Sharon Culver is a native Washingtonian, parent and a recent graduate of Trinity University's School of Education, Educating for Change Program. She received her Bachelor’s of Science Dual Degree in Early Childhood Education/ Special Education, from Bowie State University in 2009. The journey of obtaining her Master's Degree in the Educating for Change Program has granted her a unique insight into the inequities and systemic challenges within the public education system. Sharon’s proven ability to implement effective learning solutions is grounded in her cumulative experience as a classroom teacher, teacher trainer and Reading Department Chair. She is an expert at integrating leadership insight with strategic policy initiatives and has experience providing professional development and curriculum support as a certified teacher. Sharon’s extensive experience working in urban school districts has helped teachers bring rich learning experiences to children from all backgrounds and native languages. She clarifies educational requirements for school districts through performing gap- analysis between goals and existing state common core policies and procedures. Her 10-year journey as a pre- kindergarten, kindergarten, first, and second-grade teacher has grown Sharon's passion for educating and advocating for, the students she teaches and loves.
